RC Clubs across Australia
We have added a page listing all the RC clubs across Australia. If you are considering racing your RC car, check out this page to find a club near you. The Club Listing page is located next to “About us’ at the top of the webpage.
The RC racing community supports new members, so don't hesitate to reach out. You are bound to make new friends and experience the camaraderie commonly found in team sports. While the competition can be fierce, it's all in good fun, and the battle wounds are superficial. Unlike walking off a footy field, the damage is limited to your RC car, and parts can be replaced without a day missed from work.
This sport has no limit; The young to young at heart, abled and disabled members, all race against each other making RC racing a wonderful father-son hobby or even getting the whole family involved. Many RC Clubs run regular practice days, club race days, interclub series, State titles, the Australian title and several Aussies make the trip across the pond to various international events held in the Philippines and USA.
The success of the RC clubs relies on its members. If you have a particular skill set, IT, labour, civil works, finance, marketing, landscaping, etc., it all helps. Let your club know!! Clubs are run by volunteers, and many hands make light work!
Our RC Race Team Manager, Corey Tate, has a beautiful reflection he posted to Facebook in Nov 2022 expressing his gratitude for the volunteers.
"What follows is an open letter of thanks from an RC Racer to the many volunteers around the country who help to keep our beloved sport/hobby alive and thriving. As this year comes to an end and clubs around the country are starting to wrap up the racing calendar I urge all RC racers young and old to share this message and, if you are so inclined, tag those special people in your community so they know how much you appreciate their efforts.
IT TAKES A HERO
Every time I turn up at my local race track there is a feeling of joy, excitement and anticipation in the air. The sounds are what hit me first. Tyres and boots gently crunching on gravel or asphalt, car doors opening and closing, the sharp ting-ting-ting of hammer on steel peg and the oddly unmistakable clack of plastic parts containers being opened and closed.
As I take a breath and stretch my joints my head is filled with familiar aromas. The dew on the freshly cut grass. The cloying musty smell of damp clay. The weirdly metallic scent of thousands of magical pixies flooding into lithium batteries, and of course that most intoxicating smell of Nitro fuel being poured into various containers.
Next I notice the people, most of whom are milling around the pit areas, wrestling with portable gazebos and folding tables, emptying cars, meticulously arranging various tools on pristine benches with OCD levels of precision.
As I look about I spy yet more people moving busily in and out of the canteen as they clean, stock and prepare the tasty treats that will keep me nourished. Shadowy figures are moving around race control pressing buttons and connecting cables and doing other wizardly things that somehow end up making the mysterious lady trapped in the loudspeakers talk about how fast everybody is going.
Then, finaly, my eyes come to rest on what I was waiting for. The most holy of holy. The pure majesty that is a Race Track. And it is beautiful. Off to the right a small team of artists with muddy shoes and dirty clothes are staring critically at their clay sculpture discussing arty things and as I watch they start applying their instruments in an effort to improve on perfection.
This is my playpen for the day, my happy place. And it's all for me.
As I take all of this in I understand in a very deep way that none of it happens without a small group of very dedicated, hard working, selfless, caring and wonderful people donating their time, money, sweat and yes, sometimes even blood & tears. These are not ordinary people. They are not paid to do these things. They are not compensated. They are rarely even acknowledged. It takes a special kind of human to make all of these things happen out of the goodness of their heart.
It takes a Hero.
So, from me, the Racer, to you, the Volunteer ... Thank You. You do this for me and I want you to know that your work and dedication is noticed and very much appreciated.
You're awesome.
